Alps Alpine, a leading manufacturer of electronic components and automotive infotainment systems, has brought the world numerous "First 1" and "Number 1" products since its founding in 1948. The Alps Alpine Group currently operates 110 bases in 26 countries and regions, supplying roughly 40,000 different products and solutions to around 2,000 companies worldwide. Those offerings include devices such as switches, sensors, data communication modules, touch input panels, actuators, and power inductors; electronic shifters, remote keyless entry systems, and other automotive units; consumer electronics like car navigation and audio-visual systems; and systems and services such as digital keys based on smartphone apps and blockchain technology, and remote monitoring. As a key contributor to the Alpine brand business unit, the Sr. Business Developer will identify, create, and scale new business opportunities within the lifestyle service strategy. This role is responsible for gathering and orchestrating economic, industry, and consumer data to identify new start-up business opportunities and propose them to senior management. This position will take a leadership role, ownership, and influence project teams/managers within sales, marketing, and engineering that will support our new rebrand positioning with a new start-up business mentality. The ideal candidate will apply a strong mix of leadership, analytical expertise, sales/business acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to drive insights that shape the company's strategic direction. As a key contributor to new business opportunities, the candidate will work in a fast-paced environment to test market new service offerings. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Market Research • Identify new markets, verticals, or customer segments. • Conduct surveys, focus groups, and interviews. • Use various statistical tools to evaluate growth opportunities using market, competitor, and financial analysis. • Identify gaps or opportunities in the market. • Work with marketing to analyze customer data, identify opportunities to enhance the customer journey, and drive retention, loyalty, and lifetime value. • Help define go-to-market strategies for new products or services. Lead In Test Market Projects • This position could require travel to test market and to achieve objectives. • Take ownership and report on assignments by the Director of New Business Development and Marketing or brand leadership. • Take on projects; manage, lead, and execute key New Business Development initiatives, follow up with responsible parties, and make sure projects are completed on time. • Build relationships with project teams and managers to help drive completion of high-quality project deliverables. • Ensure punctual attendance per the defined work schedule and comply with the attendance policy for time reporting, break periods, and overtime if applicable. Revenue & Pipeline Leadership • Own revenue targets tied to strategic accounts or partnerships. • Build and manage a high-quality pipeline (often fewer but larger deals). • Forecast accurately and manage risk across deals. • Work closely with Sales (as needed) to avoid overlap and maximize impact. Reporting & Presentations • Prepare reports, dashboards, and visualizations to summarize findings. • Present recommendations to management or clients to support decision-making. Market Forecasting • Predict future market trends, sales potential, and consumer behavior. • Help plan product launches, advertising campaigns, and budgeting. Monitoring Performance • Track marketing campaigns and product performance against goals. • Suggest adjustments based on real-time data. A.) from a four-year college or university, and two to three years of related experience. Familiarity or experience in emerging trends such as EV mobility, metaverse, and portable audio devices is a plus. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, and/or ABILITY • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or related field • 5+ years of progressive experience in market intelligence, business strategy, consumer insights, or competitive analysis • Exceptional storytelling, communication, and presentation skills with experience delivering insights to executive audiences • Strong business acumen and ability to lead individuals/teams or cross-functional departments. • Experience in a Marketing Agency and/or Consulting company with a focus on job requirements is a plus. • Experience in SaaS or Software as a Service business model is recommended. • Proven ability to lead strategic Business Development projects and translate complex data into actionable insights • Experience in consumer and market research tools and new methods, including advances in insights, AI & Machine Learning applications, and behavioral science, is a plus. • Expertise in market intelligence tools and data visualization platforms (e.g., IRI, Power BI, Tableau, Nielsen, etc.) • Proficiency in CRM platforms support sales and customer data analysis • Demonstrated experience in team leadership or mentorship • Knowledge of customer experience, strategy development, and consumer/market/shopper/brand/innovation frameworks and tools • Familiarity with advanced analytics techniques (e.g., predictive modeling, clustering, regression analysis), hands-on proficiency is a plus. LANGUAGE SKILL Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
