About the role A Support Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the team’s mission by processing new referrals and building the foundational groundwork required for Allsup's Social Security disability insurance (SSDI) and Veteran’s Disability Appeal Service claims. This position involves a variety of administrative tasks aimed at building claimants’ case files, including processing claimant demographic and client-specific data, mailing appropriate correspondence to claimants or the SSA, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met, and conducting follow-up activities with government agencies and claimants via phone. What you'll do Process a wide-variety of administrative tasks, aimed at building claimants’ case files to include claimant demographic and client-specific data. Mail appropriate correspondence to the claimant or SSA including authorization forms, as needed, while ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained. Review and process authorization forms to ensure accuracy, according to the Social Security Administration’s strict guidelines. Review and process all incoming mail, e-mail, and e-faxes, and ensure documents are properly associated with the appropriate case files. Exhibit a high level of attention to detail in reviewing, creating, and updating claimant files. Conduct follow up activity with government agencies regarding status and claimants as needed. Document case notes, thoroughly recording conversations and actions taken. Maintain strict confidentiality of claimant information, procedural manual, and other proprietary information. Qualifications Experience in customer service-related field Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment. Ability to input accurate data into our various computer systems. Excellent grammar, spelling, oral and written professional communication skills. Must possess problem-solving abilities. Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and screens simultaneously. Must display a high level of initiative and drive to succeed.
