Key Position Details: 0.5 FTE (40 hours every two-week pay period) Day/Evening shifts Occasional weekends Driving, scheduling and various other duties Pick up vehicle at Abbott Northwestern Hospital - Purple Ramp Job Description: Responsible for operating a mobile lung cancer screening unit and coordinating patient and provider services to ensure safe, efficient, patient-focused operations. Duties include driving the screening vehicle to designated sites across the state of Minnesota and western Wisconsin, with some overnight travel expected. The driver will also assist patients, coordinate schedules, complete documentation, and perform other administrative and safety-oriented responsibilities. As part of a mobile team, this position works with a high level of autonomy and communicates with leadership as appropriate. Principle Responsibilities Mobile Unit Driving and Related Operations Safely transports the mobile lung cancer screening truck and its occupants to scheduled locations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines. Performs start-up and shut-down procedures for vehicle equipment (generators, stabilizers, awning, etc.). Conducts pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; maintain familiarity with emergency procedures and equipment locations. Ensures parking and site logistics are coordinated with facility managers; keep walkways clear of hazards. Extended travel with overnight stays may be expected Refuels vehicle following company guidelines, saving receipts and following expense reimbursement policies. Patient Coordination Schedules and coordinates patient appointments, procedures, and tests; manage provider schedules and calendars. Assists with patient check-in, registration, and documentation; arrange interpreter services as needed. Reviews patient consent forms and enters scheduling documentation into the electronic medical record using Excellian. Verifies insurance, obtains prior authorizations, and ensures all patient documentation is complete and compliant. Supports daily operations, including coordination of volunteers and collaboration with clinical staff. Administrative Support & Compliance and Safety Provides telephone coverage, route messages, and maintain department records and patient education materials. Participates in data reporting and compliance with regulatory standards including Federal, State, Local, and organizational guidelines and completing necessary paperwork for routes. Assists with training materials for care team members. May assist providers with reimbursements, credentialing, and charge capture. Attends all required training and in-service sessions; complete documentation with accuracy. Maintains an average audit failure rate of one or less audit failures per week with respect to driving responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description 2+ years commercial driving experience 1+ year in customer service, including the demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Minimum 6 months of healthcare related work experience or education Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED Associate's or Vocational degree in medical field 2+ years of experience in a medical office or clinical support role with experience in Microsoft Suite and electronic medical records (EMR) Licenses/Certifications Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) MN/WI residents must obtain a license in their state within 60 days of employment. Ability to obtain DOT certification Class A CDL OR ◦ Class B CDL with Air Brake Endorsement Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: ◦ Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association ◦ Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross ◦ Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire) Physical Demands Light Work: Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $22.71 to $31.13 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range.
