Allient Inc. is currently seeking a Maintenance Electronics Technician to join our team in Watertown, New York! The Maintenance Electronics Technician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electronic systems and equipment used in industrial manufacturing. He/she may conduct and evaluate computer diagnostic tests or attempt to reproduce the problem and if necessary, required to use hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, or soldering irons. Apply now! Responsibilities: - Troubleshoots and repairs machinery and equipment with minimal supervision using safe techniques, following standard practices and all governmental regulations and laws relating to powered equipment. - Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. - Installs power supply wiring and PVC for newly installed machines and equipment. - Performs electrical tasks and incidental work as needed to achieve assigned task. - Performs electronic component replacement per familiarity and/or training. Verifies equipment as functional and leave the area clean and safe. - Performs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC machine (mills, lathes and other machining and assembly machinery) repairs as required. - Operates in response to requests by operations or support personnel and set priorities as required to maximize equipment uptime - Uses required tools, including calipers, dial indicators, electrical meters and other diagnostic and measurement devices. Utilizes diagnostic tools and techniques to define problem areas and assist with resolution. - Utilizes measurement devices to hold print tolerances and industry standards while performing machine repairs and assembly. - Leads preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve operational uptime and equipment life. Recommends improvements and/or changes to PM systems/tasks - Follows designated work instructions as outlined for specific functions. Includes, but not limited to; PM work orders, continuous improvement tasks, and repair/refurbish assignments Minimum Qualifications: - High School Degree, or equivalent required. 2-year Associate Degree preferred. - 5-8 years of related experience desired. - Experience with PLC ladder logic and diagrams, troubleshooting Fanuc and Mitsubishi drive electronics desired. - Good hand-eye coordination required to install and repair equipment with precision Physical Demands: - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. - The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
