Job Description As a Security Officer - Utilities Badge Monitor in Carmel, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service. You will remain visible throughout the property, respond to situations as needed, and support access control efforts. This is a driving post. What You'll Do: Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner. Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity. Monitor and report any unusual or suspicious behavior within the utilities environment. Assist with access control and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas. Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities and incidents as required by Allied Universal and the client site. Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and/or contractors to provide information or assistance as needed. Support emergency response activities according to established protocols for the location. Minimum Requirements: Candidates must have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
