Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed School Patrol Driver in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a prominent educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a welcoming presence for students, staff, and visitors. This post primarily involves driving responsibilities, so a valid driver's license is required. What You'll Do: Provide customer service to clients, students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as appropriate. Respond to incidents and critical situations within the educational environment in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with resolution as needed. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment. Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance issues to the appropriate authorities. Work closely with campus personnel and local law enforcement when required, maintaining clear communication and cooperation. Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and any security-related concerns encountered during patrols. Assist with access control by monitoring entry points and verifying identification of individuals as needed. Support Allied Universal and the client by upholding all site-specific and company policies while maintaining a professional presence at the location. Minimum Requirements: Be at least 21 years of age. A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
