You will support access control and visitor flow, document and report concerns, and provide professional customer service and communication to staff and residents. What You'll Do: Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and timely notification of site leadership and/or emergency services as needed. Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the shelter interior, exterior, and perimeter to help to deter policy violations and/or unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location. Monitor access points, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and maintain orderly entry and exit consistent with location procedures. Complete security-related reports and logs, document incidents and unusual activity, and communicate observations during shift briefings and post orders. Minimum Requirements: Possess a New York State Security Guard License. Have at least 1 year of security-related experience. Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED. Be at least 21 years of age. Access control and/or badge experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
