Job Description As a Security Officer - Mall Patrol Specialist in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned retail locations, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. You will conduct routine patrols, interact with visitors and staff, and deliver outstanding customer service while supporting a secure environment. What You'll Do: Provide excellent customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergencies as needed. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner to support a positive environment. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff. Observe and report any suspicious activities, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols to the appropriate personnel. Collaborate with store management and Allied Universal team members to address security-related concerns in a timely manner. Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential disturbances and provide reassurance to customers and staff. Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials as required, and/or addressing unauthorized entry. Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, patrols, and other security-related activities as directed by Allied Universal protocols. Minimum Requirements: At least 2 years of security-related experience is required. Having a guard card or license is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Loss prevention experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
