Full Description

Position Summary The Financial Analyst is responsible for most financial and accounting related functions for a specific group of Allied clients. A few major responsibilities will include auditing claim funds and premium accounts for individual groups, organizing data to solve problems or for analyzing. When necessary, this position supports and substitutes for other department members, particularly involving Funding related processes. The ideal candidate is a goal-oriented and self-motivated problem solver who maintains the utmost attention to detail. Spreadsheet and relational database model acumen will be critical in this role to navigate through complex technical systems and data analysis. Essential Functions • Audit and reconcile data between discrete sources, often regarding financial information • Understands current systems infrastructure to assist team members, and develops necessary new infrastructure for evolving processes • Posting financial transactions in accounting system. • Identifying, tracking, and resolving any discrepancies. • Performing weekly and monthly claim fund report reconciliations. • Detailed process and data analysis to recommend departmental improvements. • Advancing departmental goals and mission by assisting with special projects and other duties as assigned • Creating and maintaining guides and in-house process documentation. • Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or relevant work experience required Experience And Skills • 2+ years of Financial Operations (Accounting, Banking, Billing, etc…) or equivalent experience, required. • Health Insurance Industry knowledge a plus • Intermediate or Advanced skill in Excel required • Great Plains or other accounting software experience preferred • Microsoft Access experience is a plus • Prior funding or medical stop loss experience is a plus • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
