3+ years SUE experience, land survey experience, knowledge of underground utility infrastructure, CADD skills preferred, strong communication and leadership skills, and valid Florida driver's license.
We seek a new SUE Manager/Project Manager for our DeBary team! The SUE Manager is responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the Allen Underground field crews on all aspects of a project from inception to completion. This role coordinates office and field staff to meet the daily goals and initiatives of the client deliverables. This position includes a variety of in-office and field tasks associated with Subsurface Utility Exploration (SUE), including an understanding of surveying procedures, reviewing client deliverables, ensuring field data and client specifications are aligned, and ensuring field crew compliance with project specifications and contract agreements. Role and Responsibilities: • Receive, review, and prepare utility, stormwater, and roadway as-built and return internal documents as requested on a timely basis, obtaining required authorizations to record billable hours and/or expenses for work performed. • Interpret construction plans and calculate stakeout points for survey field crews. • Work collaboratively with internal and external project teams. • Responsible for the design of CADD plan layouts and drafting requirements for any assigned project. • Responsible for the record keeping, documentation of project requirements, and the ability to understand blueprints and plans • Responsible for plotting, reviewing CAD Technicians' drawings, and making required modifications. • Adhere to the ASCE 38-22 standards • Manage, distribute, and review 811 locate tickets. • Responsible for managing multiple field crews and office personnel • Field all phone calls/emails from field and office employees about project specifications • Make field visits to job sites for compliance/quality purposes or emergencies. • Willing to perform routine clerical duties of moderate complexity associated with typing, documenting, providing general office support, responding to phone inquiries and records requests, and disseminating information • Will perform other duties as may be assigned by the Department Manager. Qualifications and Education requirements: • Radio Frequency & Ground Penetrating Radar Certification is a plus • Land Survey experience • 3+ years of SUE experience (Required) • CADD experience is preferred (Civil 3D, MicroStation, etc.) • Must possess practical written and oral communication skills • Fluent Spanish is a plus • Strong knowledge of underground utility infrastructure • Strong understanding of SUE process and procedures, including utility designation and location Interpersonal Skills: • Detail-oriented, goal-driven, problem solver • Be self-motivated to learn and advance within the company. • Strong leadership skills • Strong troubleshooting skills • Strong interpersonal skills, able to maintain composure under pressure, interact using active listening skills, and have excellent teamwork skills. • Ability to work with others in a group or team and remain flexible despite interruptions and/or routine changes to priorities and/or job duties • Strong work ethic and team-player attitude The above information in this description indicates this classification's general nature and level of employee performance. The typical work days and hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime and weekends as needed. Travel: This role may require some travel to job sites or local areas for meetings.
