Team Lead- Satellite School @ Nutrition Department (Internal employees: Set to your account to internal before applying at https://aisd.schoolspring.com/internaljobsettings) Primary Purpose: To insure storage, preparation and service of wholesome, nutritious foods within the guidelines/regulations established by USDA, Health Departments and Alief ISD. Qualifications: Education/Certification: • High School graduate or GED equivalency preferred • State of Texas or ANSI accredited Food Service Manager's Certification required Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Computer literacy required • Basic math skills - computation in addition, multiplication, and fractions • Proficiency in effective communication (written & spoken) • Strong human relationship skills • Good personal appearance and cleanliness • Ability to complete tasks in efficient manner, within required time frame. Experience: • One (1) year of school food service cashiering experience Major Responsibilities and Duties: Food Preparation and Serving • Ensure satellite school runs efficiently and employees perform their responsibilities while following directives, policies and procedures. Must have the ability to effectively communicate and work well with others. • Demonstrate proficiency in TDA/USDA, Health Department and HACCP procedures and regulations (accurate recordkeeping menus, recipes, PR, temperature logs, etc.). • Prepare food as needed and ensure only high quality food (that meets TDA/USDA and quality standards) is served. • Communicate with central kitchen managers with all concerns/questions regarding satellite operation, including employee performance issues. • Check all deliveries upon arrival to determine if quality delivered is adequate for entire meal service (promptly communicate issues to central manager). • Periodically check quantities during meal service to insure sufficient food and supplies are available for the entire meal period. Informs manager with enough time for more food to be prepared and delivered so students do not have to wait. • Inventory and order food and supplies needed for menu, per schedule. • Follow all cashier/cash handling procedures (including deposit procedures). • Daily, submit required reports to manager. • If directed by manager, meet with principal or assistant principal. Depending on the concern, supervisor & manager may accompany satellite cashier to this meeting. • Follow district and departmental policies and procedures as outlined in employee handbook. • Perform inventory and turn into central facility, per schedule. • Provide catering/special functions for students and staff. • Provide monthly trainings to satellite staff. Safety and Sanitation • Know and follow all HACCP procedures in order to maintain the highest standards of safety and sanitation. • Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety standards, and follow established procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health and safety. • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor. Other • Must obtain minimum required annual Professional Standard training hours, per USDA regulations. • Must attend required training, in-service and work related activities. • Must work in various schools, as needed. • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. • Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief. • Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. • Perform other duties assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Manual Trades - Nutrition Personnel. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; district vehicle; large and small kitchen equipment Posture: Sitting, frequent standing, walking, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, reaching, wrist turning, grasping, finger manipulation and twisting. Must be able to use step ladder, sweep, mop, and clean equipment Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent reaching Vision & Hearing: Moderate to Maximum Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds) on hard surface floors. Calendar Days:190 Pay Grade: MT04 2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $17.15 Mid. $20.47 Max. $23.79 (Based on previous experience) Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school. Salary is based on 187 days. If working less than 187 days, the salary will be less.
