Communications and Marketing Specialist Alfred Street Baptist Church is home to 12,000 members and more than 80 ministries. We are seeking a creative, self-motivated Communications and Marketing Specialist to join our Communications and Marketing Department. This full-time position will manage marketing collateral, develop multi-platform content, and implement strategic outreach initiatives that grow and engage our audiences. The ideal candidate is a digital-savvy storyteller who leverages emerging technologies-including AI and marketing automation-to enhance outreach and maximize impact. What You'll Do • Develop and produce engaging content across multiple platforms (blog posts, social media, podcasts, video, reels, and AI-assisted media) • Manage and optimize digital platforms (website, app, social media) for accessibility, user experience, and SEO • Create marketing collateral to maximize event attendance, sponsorship opportunities, and awareness • Execute electronic and email marketing campaigns alongside the Web Graphic Designer • Conduct outreach to the community, other organizations, and media outlets to increase engagement • Interpret analytics and metrics to inform strategy and demonstrate impact • Monitor digital trends and recommend innovative approaches to maintain relevance • Coordinate with team members, vendors, and consultants on communications projects • Write, edit, and review content to ensure quality, brand consistency, and compliance What We're Looking For Required: • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, or related field preferred • 2-3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or digital engagement • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills • Digital marketing knowledge (SEO, content marketing, social media, marketing automation) • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new platforms quickly • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and metrics • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects • Creative self-starter who works independently and collaborates effectively with diverse teams Preferred: • Experience in nonprofit or faith-based communications • Portfolio showcasing writing, design, or campaign results • Proficiency with AI-enhanced design tools (Canva AI, Adobe Firefly) and content optimization platforms • Familiarity with graphic design, photo editing, and video production software • Eye for design, typography, and color theory How to Apply Submit a resume and cover letter through our online application system.
