We're on the hunt for a HR Manager! Our amazing client in Irving, Business Interiors, remains a leader in the commercial interior space design/office furniture/architectural services industry. Woman-owned since 1970, their company culture and employee tenure are unmatched! This position will develop, plan, and direct all HR activities and initiatives, ensuring legal compliance and advocating for Business Interior's mission and values. The role requires a hands-on influential leadership style, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and proven problem solving and organizational abilities. This is a HR Department of One, so experience overseeing the entire lifecycle of employment is essential. Here's what you'll be doing: Recruitment & Onboarding • Oversee the pre-employment, talent acquisition and new hire orientation & onboarding process for all open roles. • Source, post jobs, screen, and interview candidates for various exempt and non-exempt positions. • Oversee applicant data integrity and EEO recordkeeping standards. Payroll/Timekeeping • Process bi-weekly payroll, commission payments, and periodic bonus payments for both exempt and non-exempt staff. Compliance • Oversee and ensure compliance with all local, state and federal employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, FCRA, ADA, Title VII, OSHA, EEO, OFCCP) • Update and maintain company policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook. • Manage the workers' compensation program and all leave of absence compliance and tracking (STD/LTD/FMLA/ADA). • Work closely with the Safety Team to maintain accident records and oversee annual OSHA administrative/reporting requirements. Employee Relations • Investigate and resolve employee grievances and provide guidance on company policies and procedures. • Coach managers on employee-related matters, including performance issues, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution. • Proactively work with leadership to plan and oversee several annual employee events, including the annual recognition event, Halloween event, etc. Employee Benefits • Oversee all aspects of employee benefits and benefits administration, including review of annual insurance renewals, 401(k), annual open enrollment, and compliance with annual reporting requirements, including ACA. • Serve as liaison between brokers/insurance carrier and staff. Performance Management • Coordinate and guide the employee performance review process. • Provide day-to-day performance management to employees (coaching, conflict resolution, counseling, career development, terminations). Training & Development • Identify training needs and coordinate/deliver training programs for employees and management. Offboarding • Manage the offboarding process, exit interviews, unemployment claims and post-employment activities. Here's who we're looking for: • Bachelor's degree • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a HR role • Experience as a HR Department of One preferred • PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP preferred • Proficiency with payroll processing/benefits administration/timekeeping systems. Paycom experience a plus. • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of HR best practices & federal/state employment laws • Proven ability to juggle multiple competing priorities • Ability to adeptly communicate and partner with all levels of the organization • Proven organizational and time management skills • Strong attention to detail.
