AM / SAM / AD – Healthcare PR (US) Location: Remote or Hybrid (US-based) Employment Type: Full-time Reports to: VP, Healthcare Communications / Group Director About the Role I’m looking for a dynamic and strategic Account Manager, Senior Account Manager, or Account Director to join a healthcare-focused PR agency in the US. Depending on level, you will support or lead communications programs for major pharmaceutical and healthcare clients, driving visibility, reputation, and engagement across earned, digital, and integrated platforms. You’ll contribute to or own client relationships, manage day-to-day program execution, and help shape the growth of the agency’s healthcare communications offering. Ideal candidates excel in client strategy, scientific storytelling, cross-functional collaboration, team support or leadership, and modern integrated communications. What You’ll Do (Responsibility scope will scale according to AM / SAM / AD level) • Support or lead one of our major pharmaceutical accounts, delivering a diverse mix of scientific communications, stakeholder engagement, disease awareness, and educational initiatives. • Build trusted adviser relationships with clients by offering strong strategic counsel and proactive, solutions-focused account management. • Help strengthen and expand our healthcare capabilities, contributing to new approaches, offerings, and agency growth. • Own or participate in the brainstorm process, identify opportunities, lead or support ideation, and help mentor team members to become strong facilitators. • Translate insights into action by shaping ideas that align with client objectives and bringing them to life in presentations, proposals, and campaign plans. • Demonstrate command of digital and traditional communication strategies, including earned media, thought leadership, social strategy, and integrated programming. • Support or oversee account operations, including budgets, timelines, resourcing, and program delivery. • Lead or support teams with clarity and confidence, motivating, guiding, and developing junior colleagues. • Cultivate strong media relationships, guiding or executing media strategy, story development, and executive visibility. • Contribute to thought leadership efforts, including insights, speaking opportunities, and industry participation. • Participate in new business efforts through pitch support, narrative development, and proposal writing. What You Have • Proven ability to motivate, support, or lead teams, depending on level. • A collaborative mindset with the ability to mobilize cross-functional teams toward shared goals. • A problem-solving, resourceful, goal-oriented approach with the confidence to challenge assumptions respectfully and move teams to consensus. • Experience leading or supporting client accounts, managing stakeholders, and acting as a strategic, solutions-focused communicator. • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, forecasting, financials, or revenue goals (especially at SAM/AD levels). • Healthcare / pharmaceutical PR experience is essential (medical, scientific, corporate, or product communications). • Experience developing and executing integrated PR campaigns that span earned, digital, and content. • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex scientific or clinical topics. • Experience level expectations: • AM: ~2–4 years of healthcare PR agency experience • SAM: ~4–6 years of experience with increasing client ownership • AD: ~6+ years of experience with full account leadership responsibility • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-first environment with multiple active workstreams. • Experience or interest in using AI and digital tools to support insights, content, and program planning (preferred). Education • Bachelor’s degree required in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, life sciences, or a related field. • Advanced degree (MPH, MA, MBA) is a plus.
