Primary Skills: Cloud/Infrastructure (Expert), Risk/Issue Management (Intermediate), Project Management (Expert), Presales support (Beginner), Vendor Management (Intermediate) Contract Type: W2 Duration: 6 Months Location: Vernon Hills, IL - 60061 ( - Remote) Pay Range: $50 - $55 per hour #LP Job Summary: The Project Manager serves as a trusted consultant, providing project management expertise across multiple technology stacks and services. Projects range from low to medium complexity and may include mainstream, legacy, and emerging technologies. This role balances scope, schedule, and budget while leveraging PMO tools and templates to deliver successful business outcomes. The Project Manager works with cross-functional teams—Client's engineers, sales, customer staff, and third-party consultants—while serving as both a project advocate and relationship builder. Key Responsibilities • Manage end-to-end delivery of small to medium-scale projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and best practices. • Act as a trusted consultant, building strong relationships with stakeholders and linking project outcomes to business strategy. • Develop, monitor, and adjust project schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables while ensuring profitability and client satisfaction. • Lead negotiations on scope, cost, and schedules, escalating as needed to achieve successful project results. • Ensure adherence to clients' Statement of Work and quality standards throughout project lifecycle. • Support presales activities and identify opportunities for additional services. • Document project outcomes, lessons learned, and drive business process improvements. • Coach and mentor junior project managers, fostering best practices within the PMO. • Communicate effectively across live and virtual meetings, adapting style to different audiences and situations. Must-Have Skills • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 4+ years of project management experience, with 2+ years leading projects in a professional services environment. • Experience managing projects across Cloud, Security, or Infrastructure technology stacks. • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid). • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and MS Office Suite. • Demonstrated ability to manage scope, costs, and schedules while driving team accountability. • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to communicate technical recommendations from a business perspective. • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities. Industry Experience • Professional Services / Technology Consulting • Cloud, Security, and Infrastructure project delivery • Experience working in matrixed, cross-functional teams with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders • Exposure to presales activities and business development support Preferred Qualifications • PMP, Agile, or Certinia certifications. • Experience applying both Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies.
