Akkodis is seeking a Lead PHP Developer for a Direct Hire job with a client located in Long Beach, CA (Hybrid/Remote). Pay Range: $120,000 to $150,000; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. LOCATION DETAILS: Remote ok, PST hours. If they prefer onsite, there is office space in Long Beach, CA Must haves: Codigniter , PHP, mysql. Ci/cd, production, security and compliance piece. Position Summary The client is seeking a hands-on Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to guide the evolution of our enterprise SaaS platforms. You will set technical directions, lead complex initiatives, and remain actively involved in design, development, code review, troubleshooting, and delivery. This role is well suited to an experienced engineer who can improve a mature production platform while helping shape its next generation. You will work closely with client leadership, developers, ergonomics professionals, and enterprise client teams to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable software. Key Responsibilities • Set the technical direction for ErgoTracPro and client's Training Hub while remaining hands-on in architecture, development, and delivery across the stack. • Plan and prioritize concurrent client, product, security, and platform initiatives; balance urgency, dependencies, and team capacity while communicating tradeoffs and keeping delivery focused. • Guide other developers through solution design, work breakdown, code reviews, mentorship, and practical engineering standards that improve quality and consistency. • Own initiatives from discovery through production, including the incremental modernization of client's mature PHP/CodeIgniter and AngularJS/jQuery platform. • Advance scalable enterprise SaaS capabilities across multi-tenant applications, APIs, integrations, reporting, configurable workflows, SSO, and role-based access controls. • Build security, privacy, and HIPAA-aligned safeguards into product design and the software development lifecycle, including access controls, encryption, auditability, vulnerability remediation, and recovery planning. • Apply AI-assisted development tools, large language models, and agentic workflows to improve engineering effectiveness and deliver responsible AI-enabled capabilities for client's ergonomics software. Required Qualifications • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership and ownership of business-critical production applications. • Strong full-stack engineering expertise across PHP or a comparable server-side MVC framework, JavaScript, relational databases, REST APIs, and third-party integrations. • Proven success designing, scaling, and modernizing multi-tenant SaaS products for enterprise customers without disrupting ongoing operations. • Strong application-security and privacy engineering experience with systems that process sensitive personal or health information, including HIPAA requirements and related technical safeguards. • Hands-on cloud and DevOps experience spanning containers, CI/CD, infrastructure, observability, and reliable production operations. • Demonstrated ability to lead delivery across competing priorities in a small or cross-functional team and make sound decisions with incomplete or changing requirements. • Practical experience with AI-assisted development and LLM- or agent-based capabilities, with sound judgment around privacy, security, reliability, and human oversight. • Clear communication with developers, business leaders, subject-matter experts, and enterprise clients, including the ability to explain technical decisions and tradeoffs. Preferred Qualifications • Direct experience modernizing CodeIgniter and AngularJS/jQuery applications, particularly in a Google Cloud environment. • Experience with ergonomics, occupational health, workplace safety, healthcare, or employee health technology. • Experience supporting enterprise implementations, RFPs, security reviews, SSO, analytics, accessibility, or international deployments. • Production experience delivering governed AI, LLM, or agent-based features in a regulated or sensitive-data environment.
