We provide a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package, including: • Competitive Pay and Annual Bonus Opportunity• 401(k) with Company Contributions • Medical, Dental, and Vision — Effective Day 1• Paid Time Off, Company Holidays, and Floating Holidays • Paid Parental Leave• Wellness Programs and Yearly Wellness Reimbursement• Work Flexibility• Company-Paid Life and Disability Insurance• Employee Assistance Program (EAP)• Tuition Reimbursement Opportunities• Career Growth and Development within a Global Organization • Company-Provided Mental Health and Caregiving support Overview • Provides support to Ajinomoto North America facilities in Digital Transformation • Distributes information on best practices for DX of these facilities, helps with training on these best practices, and leads implementation of these projects at each site • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met including but not limited to quality, regulatory, supply chain, product development, finance, customer service, etc. Qualifications EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: • Four-year degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar technical degree (e.g. Engineering or IT) • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certified or willing to obtain certification. • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment • 2+ years of experience with scripting languages (such as Python, JavaScript, C++) • Experience with leadership and management of people and projects is preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: • Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C++, Python • Well versed in system design, algorithms, and industry best practices • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • High degree of scientific and technical proficiency • Understanding of data science concepts, including predictive analytics, statistics, and machine learning • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs) • Ability to transfer technical knowledge to practical applications • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills • Skills and experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps) • Ability to lead and manage projects • Ability to manage and mentor people and provide effective leadership • Ability to make independent judgments that have impacts on the organization • Quickly able to learn new processes and facilities • Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving: Accurately assesses problems and effectively and efficiently arrives at solutions Working Conditions / Physical Requirements WORKING CONDITIONS: • Standard working conditions are remote, however travel to various manufacturing sites expected (maximum 25% travel) • When on site, work in bio-chemical/chemical/dry blending manufacturing environment • This position may perform activities in an environment containing hazardous elements and requiring safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. • This position may perform activities in an environment containing possible electrical hazards, and requires knowledge of electrical safety practices and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. • Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. • All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs, JHAs, and support of the ISO standards in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Standing or sitting for ~8 hours Responsibilities • Strategize software-driven DX initiatives for AHN including, but not limited to areas of data science, software development, data management, and data visualization • Act as subject matter expert for software-driven Digital Transformation initiatives, concepts, and projects. • Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and feasibility assessments for internal software and data science projects. • Identify opportunities for time-savings and automation and work with teams to find data-driven solutions. • Work with sites to develop systems, methods, and models using DX tools for digital twins, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and other like initiatives. • Design, create and test prototypes for software solutions that aid in standardization, time savings, and digitalization of processes. • Work with stakeholders such as site management and MIS to scale up prototype solutions to production scale. • Implement digital tools and data practices to support decision making and time savings of supply chain management. • Provides mentorship and training in DX concepts and technical skillsets • Facilitates excellent communication between all sites, to assist in sharing of information to accelerate Digital Transformation at each site • Assists with reviewing bids and selection process for third party vendors for applicable controls and digital transformation projects • Travels to plant sites as necessary to support automation and digital transformation assessments, troubleshooting, and/or project start-ups • Leads and supports data science initiatives including predicative analytics, statistics-driven solutions and machine learning for plant and business data • Determine documentation strategies for new and existing software products • Participates in and leads initiatives in collaboration with AJICO and other international Ajinomoto affiliates, on industrial manufacturing automation and digital transformation • Assists in the recruitment and selection of new DX resources for AHN • Implement and support Agile methodology for project management of applicable DX projects. • Support AFI Automation team training and projects during succession period Salary Range 85K-95K EEO Statement Ajinomoto is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, age, physical or mental disability, national origin, veteran status or any other basis protected by state, federal, or local law.
