About the Role As a Senior Staff Product Designer, you will be a key individual contributor and design leader, shaping the future of our product. This is a pivotal role that combines deep, hands-on UI/UX design with strategic thinking and cross-functional influence. You'll be instrumental in driving initiatives related to both our core UI/UX and the development of AI-driven experiences. Your work will accelerate our product roadmap, build out our design system, and help scale our engineering capacity. You'll be the go-to design partner for product managers, engineers, and fellow designers on complex projects. You will guide the end-to-end design of product experiences and contribute to how design operates and scales within the organization. This is a highly autonomous role for a seasoned designer who thrives on complexity, brings clarity to ambiguity, and is motivated by meaningful product impact and strategic business outcomes. What You'll Do Contribute to the end-to-end design of our most complex product experiences, focusing on multi-team or cross-surface workflows Take the lead on designing and prototyping new user experiences with a focus on new AI focused UX Partner with other designers and developers to translate complex models into intuitive and effective user interfaces Contribute to the vision and execution for our core UI/UX, translating high-level user insights and business goals into scalable, future-proof design solutions Set and uphold a high bar for interaction, visual, and systems design, ensuring our experiences are thoughtful, accessible, and well-implemented at every touchpoint Contribute to and evolve our design system to support consistency, usability, and long-term growth, with an emphasis on component-based UI development Determine how conversational UX and AI is factored into the design system Collaborate closely with front-end engineering to ensure a seamless and efficient workflow from design to implementation Communicate with designers and contractors, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-trust design culture Actively advocate for design excellence and user experience best practices across the product, design, and development teams What We're Looking For 7+ years of experience designing complex digital products, with a proven track record of leading significant UI/UX initiatives in SaaS or platform environments A strong portfolio demonstrating strategic systems thinking, deep product design, and an end-to-end process Experience designing for AI or ML products is a plus Demonstrated ability to influence and lead design initiatives across multiple product areas or teams without direct authority Deep fluency in design tools like Figma and extensive experience in contributing to design systems Exceptional collaboration, communication, and facilitation skills Proven ability to work independently in a distributed, fast-moving environment Experience experimenting with AI tools in your personal or professional life - or an eagerness to learn! We'd Be Delighted If You Also Have Experience with mentoring or guiding other designers, even informally Familiarity with component-based front-end development (e.g., React, Vue) Experience designing for global or cross-platform experiences (mobile, web, multi-channel UX) A passion for simplifying complex workflows and creating polished, high-impact experiences Familiarity or use of AI prototyping tools (e.g. Cursor, Lovable) Work Location & Travel Requirements Airship’s ‘Digital First’ approach to work means that for the majority of our roles, work can be performed remotely, either some or most of the time. Compensation Airship’s compensation is determined by a variety of factors including market data, business needs, and geography. Base pay is part of your total compensation package and is dependent on multiple factors, including: relevant skills, work experience, business priorities, market demands, and location. The starting base pay range for this position is: $150,000 - $175,000 USD per year. Some roles may also be eligible for commission, bonus, or other performance incentives.
