JOA# 25-10 DATE: 10/24/2025 TITLE: Director, International Affairs GRADE: Exempt DIVISION: International Affairs REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President-International POSITION SUMMARY: Represent Airlines for America (A4A) and member airlines throughout all phases of air services market access negotiations between the U.S. and foreign governments. Resolve member airlines international and regulatory issues globally through preparing and filing A4A position papers, letters and comments concerning doing business and policy issues before U.S. and foreign regulators and international bodies. Provide important facilitation, coordination and industry-wide advocacy functions, specifically as a liaison between A4A member airlines and the U.S. and/or foreign governments. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Identify and resolve international and regulatory business issues on behalf of A4A and member airlines. • Participate as a member of United States government (USG) delegations during bilateral and multilateral negotiations representing the interests of A4A member airlines. • In addition to bilateral negotiations, represent A4A member airlines at meetings which relate to international affairs including Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) international stakeholder meetings and multilateral organizations such as International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Air Transport Association (IATA), Eurocontrol, etc. • Draft industry position letters and build consensus among member airlines to successfully persuade/influence U.S. and foreign government decisions or policies. • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant USG officials in Washington and abroad (U.S. embassies and missions); with foreign government officials; and with industry representatives worldwide as appropriate to deal with A4A member issues. • Establish and maintain relationships with representatives of the IATA and regional aviation associations. • Other duties as identified.
