Full Description

✈️Ready for the Take-Off!? Please apply by including your portfolio reflecting your prior experience in PR and/or journalism. Are you a proactive and results-oriented PR talent ready to make a tangible impact? AirAdvisor is on an ambitious journey, fighting for air passenger rights globally, and we’re seeking a sharp, experienced Public Relations final-year Intern or Junior PR Freelancer in the United States to join our fast-growing, international team. This is a unique opportunity to directly support media outreach, localize campaigns, and drive our story in the US market, all while gaining invaluable experience in the airline passenger rights industry. You’ll be joining a growing international team of four PR professionals spread across Europe. While they focus on the EU, you’ll be the owner of the US PR efforts, with the opportunity to develop strong relationships with American media and play a central role in shaping our presence in the US market. We’ve already started building connections with some leading outlets, and you’ll have the chance to take this work further and make it your own. About Us ✈️At AirAdvisor, we are dedicated to ensuring air travelers receive the compensation they are entitled to for flight disruptions. Whether it’s a delay, cancellation, missed connection, or an airline-related issue like overbooking. In June 2025, we launched a new service for baggage claims for lost and delayed luggage. We are present in the EU, UK, and other international markets, focusing on protecting air passenger rights globally. We have successfully processed over 500,000 claims for clients from 221 countries, learning a 4.7-star rating from 25,800+ reviews. Currently operating in 21 languages (with 9 more forthcoming this year), AirAdvisor is an ambitious and fast-growing startup with a clear vision for international expansion, and we plan to reach 1 million claims by the end of 2026. ✈️ About the Role As we grow our presence in local markets, we're specifically looking for a vibrant and detail-oriented PR Intern or Junior PR Freelancer in the US to directly support our media outreach, campaign launches, story research, and localization efforts. You'll be instrumental in helping us to tell our story, connect with local media, and shine a light on the crucial work we do through strategic public relations initiatives tailored for the US audience. This is a remote, part-time paid internship or freelancing role that is perfectly suited for a student, recent graduate, or junior freelancer. A closer overview of what you’ll do: • Media Landscape Mapping: Proactively identify and map the local media landscape, pinpointing relevant news outlets, key journalists, and emerging PR opportunities with a focus on US national outlets. • Pitching & Follow-Up: Confidently pitch our campaigns and stories to journalists to secure compelling local press coverage, and expertly follow up with media contacts. • Media Request Coordination: Support incoming media requests, coordinating timely and accurate responses with our Global PR Manager. • Competitors & Industry Monitoring: Continuously monitor competitors' coverage and industry trends, proposing fresh story angles specifically tailored to US audiences. • Taking initiative: Suggest timely story ideas and PR opportunities, working with our team to shape the narrative, and over time, independently propose and draft relevant PR stories. • Localize: Adapt press releases and other communication materials for the North American market, ensuring cultural relevance and accuracy. • Data-driven Storytelling: Analyze flight and passenger rights data to identify trends, support reports, and create compelling story angles for the media. Who You Are: We are specifically seeking candidates who are ready to hit the ground running. While we value motivation and initiative immensely, previous experience in public relations or journalism is a key criterion for this role. • Demonstrated Previous PR Experience: This is crucial. You must possess prior experience in PR or proven hands-on experience in media relations, drafting press materials, or supporting PR campaigns. We will expect from you a proactive approach in suggesting relevant topics and story angles that may interest North American audiences. • American English skills (native level): Your ability to articulate complex ideas clearly, effectively, and concisely is essential. • A final year student or recent graduate in Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations from one of the top 15 universities in New York. • Organized, Curious, Proactive, and Independent: You're comfortable managing your tasks remotely, taking initiative, and always looking for new angles. • Result-oriented approach, with a proven ability to deliver fast and make a significant impact on business growth, demonstrate initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Interest in Aviation, Travel, or Passenger Rights: A genuine curiosity about our industry will help you thrive. • Self-aware, honest, and able to take responsibility for mistakes while driving continuous improvement. • Exceptional problem-solving skills and creative thinking abilities. • Independence: Ability to act as a universal player, capable of working independently without constant supervision. • Speed: Result-oriented, with a focus on delivering fast and making an immediate impact. • Devotion: Eager to make a significant impact on the product/service, with a willingness to go above and beyond to achieve their goals. Why You’ll Love Working With Us: • Remote-first culture with flexible start and end times. Your working hours will be easily registered in our time-tracking application, so you will have the flexibility to adjust your working day according to your needs and capacities. • Annual pay review and performance-based bonuses. • Professional Growth Opportunities: work on a global expansion and new market entry. • Dynamic work and a chance to learn how to utilize your skills in an absolutely new way. • Supportive Team Culture: work with smart, passionate, and friendly colleagues who value collaboration. • International Team: our colleagues are located in 12 countries around the globe.
