Job Summary Air Star Transportation is a Paratransit company in West Mifflin, Pa, providing transportation to the elderly, people with disabilities and others who qualify. We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Contract Recruiter/Community Outreach Specialist to join our talent acquisition team. We are looking for candidates in the southern hills of Allegheny County, PA. In this role, you will drive strategic outreach efforts to build strong relationships within diverse communities, identify top talent. Your energetic approach and excellent communication skills will help us attract, engage, and secure talented candidates while fostering positive community connections. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our organization’s growth and diversity initiatives through targeted outreach and innovative recruiting strategies. This is a contract, performance based, remote position. We are looking for someone in the South Hills part of the Pittsburgh region who can help develop new strategies to attract quality employees. This is a 1099, base rate plus commission position. Terms and Length of contact are negotiable. Duties • Develop and execute community outreach programs to establish partnerships with local organizations, educational institutions, and industry groups to source diverse talent pools. • Conduct targeted recruitment campaigns utilizing social media management tools to generate candidate interest. • Engage in cold calling and lead generation activities to connect with potential candidates and build a robust pipeline for contract roles. • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and refine sourcing strategies aligned with employment law compliance. • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, community organizations, and educational institutions to facilitate ongoing talent acquisition efforts. • Ensure a seamless candidate experience by providing clear communication throughout the hiring process and managing employment documentation such as employee orientation materials. • Stay informed on labor laws, employment regulations, and best practices in HR sourcing to ensure compliant recruiting activities. • Support training & development initiatives related to recruiting techniques, diversity outreach, and talent management strategies such as succession planning. Skills • Strong negotiation skills combined with the ability to influence candidates and hiring managers effectively. • Extensive experience in technical recruiting, executive recruiting, campus recruitment, and internal recruiting processes. • Exceptional communication skills—both verbal and written—to engage candidates across multiple channels including social media management platforms. • Knowledge of employment & labor law to ensure all recruiting practices are compliant with legal standards. • Demonstrated ability in research techniques for talent sourcing across various channels including social media platforms like LinkedIn or Salesforce integrations for lead management. • Experience in employee relations activities such as onboarding, employee evaluation processes, and employee orientation programs. • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. • Familiarity with training & development concepts related to talent acquisition strategies such as succession planning or leadership development initiatives.
