Full Description

The Director of Sales, Group, MICE and Weddings is responsible for driving group, MICE and destination wedding business for a portfolio of EP and all-inclusive resorts within a defined region. This role develops and implements annual sales plans and forecasts for MICE and weddings, drives top-line revenue, market share, and profitability, and builds long-term, value-based relationships with key clients and partners. The Director oversees the full sales process, from lead generation to contract closing, while ensuring seamless coordination with direct sales team members, operations, revenue, and on-property teams. Key Responsibilities · Develop and implement annual sales plans and forecasts for Groups, MICE, and Weddings to meet revenue and profitability targets. · Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and demand patterns to refine strategies and uncover new business opportunities. · Design and adjust sales and marketing initiatives to support need periods and respond to market changes. · Lead, motivate, mentor sales team to achieve financial and non-financial goals. · Set clear KPIs and performance standards to ensure high-quality service and consistent delivery across all client interactions. · Foster a high-performance culture focused on responsiveness, client satisfaction, and conversion. · Act as the primary contact for key clients and planners in core feeder markets. · Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with corporate clients, incentive houses, MICE agencies, wedding planners, and social group organizers. · Conduct site inspections, FAM trips, and client events to showcase the resort portfolio and drive conversion. · Identify and pursue new business opportunities in MICE and wedding markets for the EP and all-inclusive resorts. · Cultivate partnerships with destination bureaus, venues, DMCs, and key suppliers to drive joint initiatives and incremental business. · Contribute to budgeting/forecasting processes for group, MICE, and weddings. · Maintain accurate pipeline management tools, reports, and performance tracking to support forecasting and decision-making. • · Oversee the full event sales cycle, from lead generation to proposal, negotiation, contracting, and handoff, ensuring seamless coordination with operations. Qualifications & Experience · Minimum 5 years in a sales or management role within MICE, hospitality, or event management; 7+ years total experience in hospitality sales preferred. · Proven customer and sales focus, with a strong track record of building client relationships and closing deals in group, MICE, and/or wedding segments. · Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends, develop marketing/sales plans, and generate innovative ideas to grow business. · Experience managing multiple projects and events simultaneously, including complex group logistics and stakeholder coordination. · Solid understanding of the international MICE and wedding markets, particularly within the resort/all-inclusive segments. · Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Business, Tourism, or related field required; advanced degree is a plus. · Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written. · Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple clients, events, and deadlines. · Strategic and analytical mindset, comfortable working with KPIs, pipeline reports, and financial data. · High client-service orientation, with creativity in crafting solutions and proposals. · Proficiency with CRM systems, sales platforms, PMS/CRS, and MS Office · Fluent English and Spanish preferred; additional language is an advantage.
