ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Backend Engineering Lead, specializing in Go and Kotlin, you will be instrumental in modernizing a large-scale platform by designing cloud-native services that support millions of users. This position emphasizes building robust backend systems, influencing architectural decisions, and driving long-term technical evolution. WHAT YOU WILL DO: • Design and develop scalable microservices using Golang for transactional systems and/or Kotlin for Backend-for-Frontends (BFF). • Take charge of infrastructure provisioning using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code). • Migrate data and logic from a legacy PHP monolith to Cloud SQL/Spanner. • Collaborate with mobile engineers to establish API schemas and requirements. • Ensure high performance and reliability of services deployed to Cloud Run/GKE. • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code. MUST HAVES: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. • 5+ years of backend software development experience. • Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) and/or Kotlin (server-side). • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery. • Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools. • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems. • Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases. • Upper-intermediate English level. NICE TO HAVES: • The ability to read and understand PHP. • Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers. • Experience with Event-Driven Architecture.
