Senior Environmental Project Manager This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Project Manager ready to advance their career in a leadership role focused on environmental revitalization. This isn't just a technical position, it's a chance to take the lead on high-impact Brownfield projects and play a key role in advancing economic and environmental progress across the Midwest. What You'll Do • Oversee Brownfield redevelopment projects from initial investigation through remediation and construction • Guide municipalities and developers in leveraging local and state incentive programs to support redevelopment • Manage multiple environmental projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk • Ensure projects comply with environmental regulations (EPA, CERCLA, Brownfield programs) • Collaborate with government agencies, community organizations, developers, and environmental stakeholders • Mentor junior staff and contribute expertise across interdisciplinary teams • Write proposals, support business development, and identify new project opportunities • Maintain strong client relationships, including project communication and billing oversight Key Areas of Focus • Technical environmental work: 50% • Project management and client coordination: 30% • Staff leadership and mentoring: 10% • Administrative and QA/QC support: 10% What We're Looking For Education • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field Experience • At least 10 years in environmental remediation or Brownfield redevelopment • Minimum of 5 years in a project management role with experience leading multidisciplinary teams • Expertise in environmental site assessments (Phase I & II), remediation technologies, and compliance • Experience with incentives and grant management is a plus You Excel At • Leading cross-functional teams and mentoring technical professionals • Navigating complex regulatory environments with confidence • Managing competing deadlines across multiple active projects • Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders • Communicating clearly and persuasively, both in writing and in person Why This Opportunity Stands Out • Career Growth: This role is structured to evolve into a Department Manager position, with the chance to build and lead a team. • Project Visibility: Take charge of high-profile redevelopment projects supported by local and state grants. • Collaborative Culture: Work alongside passionate professionals who value integrity, teamwork, and making a meaningful impact. • Resources + Agility: Enjoy the benefits of a stable and well-resourced organization while maintaining the responsiveness of a locally focused team.
