Job Title: Maintenance MechanicJob Description As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to coordinate repairs on a diverse range of equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, welding, and burning equipment, as well as plumbing, compressors, overhead and mobile cranes, Diesel repair, forklifts, trucks, and trailers. Your role will ensure that all equipment is repaired to safe and operational conditions through preventative and corrective maintenance on both shop and yard equipment. Responsibilities • Troubleshoot and repair 3-phase motors. • Perform preventative maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic systems. • Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and trucks. • Perform electrical installations with voltages of 480V or less. • Diagnose electrical and wiring faults. • Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures. • Follow all OSHA safety procedures. Essential Skills • Experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, maintenance technician, or millwright. • Proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine maintenance. • Ability to read blueprints and schematics. • Strong troubleshooting skills. • Electrical installations and troubleshooting up to 480V. • Experience with 3-phase motors, breakers, and breaker boxes. • Knowledge of PLCs and VFDs. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Minimum of 3 years of electrical maintenance experience. • Experience working in an outdoor industrial environment. • Experience with heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and welding machinery. • Welding skills are a plus. • Diesel experience is a plus. Work Environment Work in an industrial fabrication shop that is hot, dirty, and dusty, with open air facilities and 2-5 open fans to maintain ventilation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gibsonton, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
