Aeon for Ocean is a U.S.-based, volunteer run nonprofit founded by 7-year-old Aeon in Minnesota, to share knowledge about marine life, the oceans, and our role in protecting this planet. Our focus is on helping inland communities understand why the ocean matters and identify things they can do to protect the ocean. Through our Krill2Whale program and other initiatives, Aeon for Ocean is teaching kids they can save the World Ocean for eons! , Aeon for Ocean (AFO), a 501(c)(3), our mission is to educate and increase awareness about ocean conservation and marine life amongst kids and their greater role in spreading the message to drive action. We are looking for someone to help support and expand our community engagement. Role Description We're looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our volunteer team as a BI Analyst. The ideal candidate will be passionate about our mission and possess a strong analytical mindset. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights that will help us optimize our fundraising efforts, measure program effectiveness, and understand our community better. Responsibility Data Analysis & Reporting • Collect, clean, and analyze data from various sources (e.g., CRM, Google Analytics, social media, fundraising platforms, etc.). • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fundraising, program outcomes, and community engagement. • Provide regular reports and presentations to leadership and stakeholders, highlighting trends, insights, and recommendations. Strategic Support • Partner with finance, marketing, and program teams to identify data needs and opportunities. • Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and programs and propose improvements. • Help forecast fundraising revenue and model donor behavior. Data Management & Integrity • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data across all systems. • Work with leaders across the organization to improve data collection processes and systems. • Maintain documentation for data processes, definitions, and dashboards. Qualifications • Pursuing or holding a degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field. • Strong knowledge in Excel and SQL • At least one or more years of experience in a data analysis or business intelligence role and visualization tools (i.e., Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio). • Good communication and presentation skills. • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability. • Ability to translate complex data into clear, understandable, and actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
