Position Description We are seeking a full-time Technical Programs Coordinator to work under the Vice President of Technical Strategy in both analytics and programs administration capacity. Ideal applicants will have previous experience in the utility or energy adjacent industries. This role requires light situational awareness of the policy space, but more importantly requires a high aptitude for follow-through and cross-team management over multiple simultaneous projects. This position will work directly with the VP of Technical Strategy to execute projects that leverage partnerships between our member utilities and external stakeholders to demonstrate excellence in utility operations. Working with our 15 active technical committees and more than 500 member participants from nearly 200 different utility companies, you will develop tools that can help shape our national energy future. Primary Responsibilities • Develop programs that will enhance collaboration between utilities and their staff to lead to collective action and maintain a follow-up system to ensure long-term success. • Help organize and attend in-person meetings across the country monthly and virtual meetings weekly. Support development of group meeting agendas including recruiting speakers and developing meeting materials. • Provide actionable summaries of program discussions for executive-level audiences - identifying common themes and key areas of focus and action for members and ensuring decisions and next steps are implemented. • Facilitate organizational benchmarking and track annual statistics. • Track and provide analysis on emerging energy technologies and key issues. • Assist with the creation of thought leadership content for internal and external communications. • Track group progress reports and key actions and report on trends and activities. • Build relationships with utility professionals who participate in membership and ensure value for membership engagement. • Provide executive administrative support to the Vice President, such as managing scheduling, meeting agendas and notes. Qualifications • Demonstrated understanding of the national energy industry and emerging technologies impacting the industry. • Ability to assimilate technical data from various sources, resulting in reports that can be used to assess current trends. • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in utility management, government, communications, business, or related field. • Three or more years of professional experience working in the utility industry, energy vendor or energy adjacent • Strong writer with the specific ability to communicate complex or technical information in a simple and concise manner. • Demonstrated experience in data visualization including presentation and report development. • Project planning/ management/ scheduling skills. • General problem-solver and the ability to work independently while providing high quality deliverables. • Impeccable attention to detail. • Commitment to meet deadlines. • Flexible and agile, knowing when to adjust in a fast-paced environment. • Professional, proactive and positive team member. • Ability to travel 25% of the time - 1-2 trips per month.
