Full Description

Aegis is seeking a Manager of Procurement & Stores to join our client's organization in Chicago, IL (60619). This position is essentially a hands on purchasing manager for our client. The ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience: • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 5-7+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or stores/warehouse management. • Industry experience - steel would be the most ideal but, can also target heavy industry, machining, or metals. • Leadership experience - would want this person to have at least 2 years of experience in a manager level position. • Proven ability to be a self-starter - making decisions and supporting the team. • Strong negotiation skills and contract management experience - in addition to the maintenance, uniforms, etc. this person will also be keeping track of raw materials like scrap, industrial gases waste, saw blades, machining equipment (to name a few). • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor - open to which one) • Experience of inventory control techniques (cycle counting, ABC analysis, safety stock, Kanban). • Able to work cross functionally across each department. • Able to work 70% in the office and 30% • Strong analytical skills - good with numbers, calculation of savings, and the potential to bring the best cost savings ideas to the table. Nice to have: • Understanding of FAR/DFARS and federal-contractor procurement compliance • Masters degree or continued education. Working conditions: • May require to lift up to 25 lbs and use of PPE in production environments. • Occasional after hours response for urgent material needs or supplier issues.
