Machine Builder – Industrial Automation (4 Openings) Location: Itasca, IL Pay: $25–$32/hr Schedule: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (OT available; ideal schedule 5:00 AM–4:30 PM) Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months) About the Opportunity A rapidly growing manufacturing operation is seeking four experienced Machine Builders to support major new equipment and data center production projects. With explosive growth, expanding facilities, and a large backlog of upcoming automation builds, this is an excellent opportunity for long-term stability, career advancement, and consistent overtime. You’ll work hands-on assembling complex industrial machinery used across multiple industries—including advanced automated systems and large custom mechanical equipment. Why This Role Is a Great Fit • Extensive overtime available (up to ~20 hrs/week) • Stable, long-standing organization with 100+ years in operation • Major growth tied to large-scale data center projects • Facility expansion underway—excellent time to join • High visibility role building brand-new industrial equipment • Opportunities for skill development and long-term advancement What You’ll Do • Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and mechanical prints • Assemble complete industrial automated machines, including: • * Frame assemblies • Drive systems, motors, shafts • Drums, rolls, bearings • Pneumatics & hydraulics • Sensors, brackets, guarding • Perform operational testing, final adjustments, and verify tolerances • Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and precision instruments • Rig and move heavy components using cranes and forklifts • Support shipping/receiving for major machine builds • Complete preventative maintenance on tools and equipment • Maintain a clean, organized workspace with adherence to safety standards • Participate in process improvements and suggest optimizations What We’re Looking For Required Experience • 3–5+ years of machine building or industrial automation assembly • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings • Experience assembling complex mechanical systems • Proficient with calipers, micrometers, pi-tapes, and other precision tools • Forklift experience; crane rigging experience required (certifications preferred) • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, moving components) • Comfortable with high levels of overtime and contract-to-hire arrangements • Basic proficiency with email and ERP systems Preferred • Technical school, trade program, or related certification • Experience as a maintenance tech or field service tech • Experience with OEM manufacturing environments Shifts & Overtime • Standard Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM • Ideal Schedule: 5:00 AM – 4:30 PM + half-day Saturdays • Overtime: Up to 20 hours per week (significant OT available) Interview Process • One onsite interview • Feedback typically within 48 hours Who Succeeds Here • Mechanically inclined, precise, and reliable • Strong communicator with a team-focused mindset • Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments • Wants long-term stability and advancement opportunities How to Apply If you are an experienced Machine Builder or industrial assembler looking for steady overtime, long-term opportunity, and exposure to cutting-edge automated equipment—apply today!
