The Laboratory Charge Capture Analyst monitors medical necessity lists to ensure valid billing codes and makes laboratory charge corrections for appropriate billing. They communicate with physician office personnel to obtain necessary corrections and maintain accurate patient care data.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least one year of work experience. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

Shift: Monday- Friday Job Location: Remote The role you will contribute: The Laboratory Charge Capture Analyst works monitors medical necessity lists to ensure valid billing codes, requests script clarifications from physicians and makes laboratory charge corrections to ensure appropriate billing. The value you will bring to the team: Communicates, collects, and reports accurate patient care data to appropriate members of the interdisciplinary team. Develops rapport with physician office personnel and communicates with physicians to obtain laboratory order corrections as needed. Works on medical necessity lists from HIM to obtain valid billing codes and makes laboratory charge corrections. Scans all non-patient physician orders for the laboratory and manages outreach client folders to ensure current information is available. Maintains good communication with HIM and Revenue Management to ensure that laboratory bills drop correctly and timely. Assists with outpatient phlebotomy area by answering the telephone, greeting patients, and placing orders in the laboratory information system. Completes all procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Checks AHSS email daily and responds to work-related requests in a timely manner. Attends staff meetings and maintains cleanliness in the work area. Recommends accounts for write-off to the director. If laboratory administrative assistant tasks are performed, meets the principal duties and functions of the Laboratory Administrative Assistant position. If phlebotomy is performed, meets the principal duties and functions of the Phlebotomy job description. Performs other duties as assigned. The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: · High School Grad or Equiv · 1+ Work Experience · Ability to read text and numbers in English, with demonstrated ability to comprehend, measure, reason, match and problem solve. · Ability to learn and apply computer related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices. · Mature judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within AdventHealth guidelines and applicable regulations. · Ability to handle infectious biological specimens, caustics, toxic chemicals and/or irritants appropriately and safely. · Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with persons of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective and professional manner. · Ability to respond appropriately to buzzers, bells, flashing lights, and pagers Preferred Qualifications: · Associate Degree
