We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Health Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will collect, analyze, and interpret healthcare data to support decision-making, improve patient outcomes, and optimize operational performance. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with an understanding of healthcare systems, clinical workflows, and data standards. Key Responsibilities • Collect, clean, validate, and analyze healthcare data from various sources (EHRs, claims, registries, surveys, public health databases, etc.). • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights to clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders. • Conduct statistical analyses to identify trends, measure performance, and support quality improvement initiatives. • Support population health analytics, including risk stratification, outcomes measurement, and cost/utilization analysis. • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA, PHI protection). • Collaborate with clinicians, IT teams, data engineers, and administrators to define data needs and translate requirements into analytical solutions. • Assist in developing predictive models, cohort definitions, and health analytics algorithms. • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to clinical care, financial performance, and population health programs. • Document methodologies, data sources, and workflows for transparency and reproducibility. Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field. • Experience working with healthcare datasets and data standards (ICD, CPT, SNOMED, HL7, FHIR). • Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau). • Experience with statistical programming languages (Python, R, or SAS) preferred. • Knowledge of healthcare operations, quality metrics, and regulatory reporting (e.g., HEDIS, CMS, Joint Commission). • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Preferred Skills • Experience in population health, value-based care, or health outcomes research. • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and predictive analytics. • Experience in a hospital, health system, public health agency, payer, or healthcare analytics company. • Knowledge of data governance, interoperability, and health information systems. • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
