Position Description Civil Engineering Technician / Designer - Municipal Water Infrastructure Englewood, CO or Dillon, CO Think Big. Go Beyond. We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineering CAD Technician/Designer to support our growing municipal water infrastructure team. Responsibilities • Use established CADD standards to prepare electronic design and construction drawings from engineer markups or verbal instructions. • Draft and design civil improvements for treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, pipelines, storage vessels, and related municipal/industrial water infrastructure. • Prepare precise drawings and specifications that display scale, dimensions, material details, and construction procedures. • Develop and update design files in AutoCAD Civil 3D including alignments, profiles, grading, and pipeline infrastructure. • Incorporate redlines and design changes efficiently while maintaining clarity and accuracy. • Organize and schedule work to meet project budgets and timelines. • Perform drawing reviews and maintain organized project files. • Communicate and coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other team members. Qualifications Basic Requirements • Associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) or related field. • Proficient in AutoCAD and able to visualize designs in 2D or 3D dimensions. • Attention to detail. • Ability to work occasional overtime. • Familiarity working in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records research, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications • 3+ years drafting experience. • Proficient in Civil3D, Bluebeam Revu and Autodesk BIM • Experience with civil site design, site grading modeling, and pipeline design. • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Physical Qualifications • Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time • Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight • May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds • Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. • May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear • May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload • May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town Elevate Your Career with AE2S - Award-Winning Culture and Unmatched Benefits Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services (AE2S) is an award-winning, specialized civil/environmental consulting engineering firm that provides professional services and a unique brand of extreme client service.
