Job Summary The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and control of materials and products throughout the facility using manual labor, forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment. Ensures accurate inventory, timely order fulfillment, and a clean/safe work environment. Key Responsibilities & Duties • Receive incoming shipments: unload trucks/trailers, verify counts, inspect for damage, and accurately enter the inventory • Pick, pack, and stage customer orders according to pick tickets. • Load outbound trucks and containers in a safe and stable manner. • Put away stock into correct bin/rack locations (may involve high-reach or narrow-aisle equipment). • Replenish forward pick locations from bulk storage. • Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories. • Operate material-handling equipment safely, including sit-down/stand-up forklifts. • Consolidate and organize warehouse space to maximize storage efficiency. • Wrap, band, and label pallets and cartons. • Maintain clean and safe work areas; follow all safety protocols (OSHA). • Report damaged goods, inventory discrepancies, or equipment issues immediately. • Assemble cartons, build pallets Requirements & Qualifications • High school diploma or GED preferred. • 6–12 months of previous warehouse/material handling experience strongly preferred. • Ability to repeatedly lift 50–70 lbs (some positions up to 100 lbs with assistance). • Comfortable working at heights (up to 30–40 ft on order pickers). • Basic math, reading, and computer skills. • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for the entire shift. • Flexibility to work overtime as needed. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Must have good hearing and sight – adequate for safety programs in a manufacturing plant • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods • Ability to wear proper safety equipment when working in the plant • Physical ability to regularly work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weights up to 75 lbs, crouching, squatting, twisting, stooping, and standing This job description reflects the general duties of the job, but is not a detailed description of all duties that may be inherent to this position.
