Position Summary VP Semi Strategy serves as the senior strategist for Adeia’s Semiconductor business, partnering closely with the Chief Semiconductor Officer to define long-term strategy, market positioning, and growth pathways across Semiconductor markets and ecosystems. The role drives development of strategic business cases, prioritization frameworks, and go-to-market recommendations to support renewal readiness and sustained growth. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the VP works closely with Semiconductor, IP, Commercial, and Corporate Development leaders to drive strategic initiatives and ensure Semiconductor-specific strategies are incorporated into and aligned with the broader enterprise strategy. Key Responsibilities Business Strategy & Market Positioning • In close partnership with the Chief Semiconductor Officer, support the definition and refinement of Adeia’s long-term Semiconductor strategy, market positioning, and growth pathways. • Assess mid- and long-term Semiconductor market dynamics, ecosystem evolution, and technology-driven shifts to inform strategic direction. • Develop strategic business cases, investment logic, prioritization frameworks, and monetization models for Semiconductor growth initiatives. Growth & Commercialization Strategy • Identify, qualify, and evaluate new Semiconductor licensing customers, verticals, and programs that advance near- and mid-term commercialization while building long-term strategic advantage. • Support design and execution planning of go-to-market strategies for Semiconductor licensing verticals, considering commercial, ecosystem, and litigation pathways. • Contribute to renewal readiness planning for major Semiconductor accounts within the long-range planning window. Portfolio & Investment Alignment • Partner with the Chief Semiconductor Officer, CIPO, and Corporate Development to support development of organic and inorganic portfolio heat maps aligned to Semiconductor technologies, products, and features that drive long-term market leverage. • Provide Semiconductor-specific inputs into enterprise planning, prioritization, and scenario development in a matrixed capacity. Executive & Cross-Functional Leadership • Drive strategic initiatives as a key member of the Corporate Strategy team. • Prepare executive-ready materials summarizing strategic insights, trade-offs, risks, and growth opportunities. • Collaborate closely with Semiconductor, IP, Commercial, Finance, and Corporate Development leaders to ensure alignment with long-term technology and IP pathways. Key Competencies • Strategic thinking and structured problem-solving skills • Strong business case development and financial modeling capability • Ability to evaluate growth opportunities and develop prioritization frameworks • Effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder influence • Executive-level communication and presentation skills • Analytical rigor and data-driven decision-making discipline • Enterprise-minded, collaborative attitude with high accountability and intellectual curiosity Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Semiconductor/Technology, or related field • 12+ years in corporate strategy, technology market development, Semiconductor ecosystem roles, or consulting • Experience developing business cases and growth initiatives • Experience supporting executive-level strategic planning • Exposure to Semiconductor licensing or platform strategies preferred Preferred Qualifications • MBA or advanced degree in strategy, finance, or engineering Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid) San Jose, CA Range: $280,000-$340,000 The base compensation range is based on the primary work location of the candidate, as our ranges are location-specific. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years of experience, and depth of experience.
