Contract Details: • Title: Senior Technical Writer / Process Documentation Specialist • Duration: Through December 31, 2025 • Location: Portland, ME, open to well-qualified remote candidates • Compensation: $80–$105/hr • Interview: One remote panel interview (45–60 minutes) Overview: Seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Writer or Process Documentation Specialist to build out a formal knowledge base for two business units utilizing Skan AI. This role will be responsible for identifying undocumented processes, probing for missing information, and creating clear, structured documentation to support internal operations and application usage. A key component of this role involves engaging directly with the Skan AI vendor to understand system workflows, clarify integration points, and ensure documentation aligns with platform capabilities. Responsibilities: • Audit existing materials and processes to identify documentation gaps. • Collaborate with SMEs, technology partners (primarily based in Portland), and cross-functional teams to gather and validate information. • Engage regularly with the Skan AI vendor to extract technical and process details, clarify system usage, and incorporate vendor insights into documentation. • Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles. • Drive conversations with strong personalities to extract critical information and ensure clarity and completeness. • Create user-friendly documentation using MS Office and ServiceNow. • Support the onboarding and enablement of internal users through well-organized content. Qualifications: • Proven experience in technical writing, instructional design, or process documentation. • Ability to lead documentation efforts independently and navigate ambiguity. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. • Experience with ServiceNow and MS Office tools. • Familiarity with Skan AI or similar process intelligence tools is a plus. • Background in technical L&D or enterprise documentation preferred.
