AOI Machine Operator / SMT Inspector (2nd Shift) Location: Dallas, TX Pay: $20 – $24/hr (based on experience) Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM (4x10) Requirements: Background check (7-year county) + 9-panel drug test (THC excluded) Job Summary: We're looking for a skilled AOI Machine Operator / SMT Inspector to join our electronics manufacturing team on 2nd shift. This role involves operating automated optical inspection equipment, identifying solder defects and component placement issues on printed circuit boards (PCBs), and ensuring quality control throughout the SMT assembly process. Key Responsibilities: • Operate and maintain Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) machines for SMT production. • Perform inspections of PCB assemblies, identifying solder joint defects and misaligned components. • Interpret and follow electronic design documents and inspection criteria. • Review inspection data and escalate issues when defects exceed quality thresholds. • Assist with first article and in-process inspections. • Support team in troubleshooting quality issues and improving inspection processes. • Maintain documentation and complete inspection records accurately. • Follow all ESD and cleanroom handling procedures as required. What We’re Looking For: • 2–4 years of experience operating AOI equipment in an SMT environment. • Strong knowledge of SMT components and surface mount assembly processes. • Skilled in identifying solder defects, placement errors, and visual anomalies. • Ability to read and understand electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and design documents. • Familiarity with transformers, capacitors, resistors, transistors, and other electronic components. • Hand soldering skills (PTH) are a plus but not required. • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for extended periods. • English fluency and strong attention to detail. • Knowledge of ESD-safe practices and protocols.
