Overview: Acuity, Inc. , recipient of Washington Business Journals Best Places to work for our fifth consecutive year, is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with experience, knowledge and skills as a System Administrator. This position is remote. Acuity is seeking a highly capable System Administrator to support a fast-paced DHS mission environment. This role partners with stakeholders to stabilize operations, strengthen monitoring and reporting, and guide infrastructure and platform improvements across cloud and data-center environments. Responsibilities: • Own day-to-day operations: monitoring, incident/problem management, root cause, and recovery. • Administer OS, middleware, and databases: patching, upgrades, backup/restore, capacity/performance tuning. • Orchestrate deployments across environments under formal change control. • Maintain configuration baselines, runbooks, inventories, and operational documentation. • Support secure integrations and data flows (web services, SFTP); monitor batch jobs and interface health. • Partner with security on vulnerability remediation and ATO sustainment; prepare audit artifacts. • Provide clear status, metrics, and escalations to agency stakeholders. Qualifications: • Education/Experience: BS in CS/IT (or equivalent) and 8+ years relevant systems administration. • Breadth ( 1 year each): network/compute/storage design & implementation; cloud prod/non-prod operations; OS & middleware patching/upgrades; configuration/change management; database administration; incident/problem management. • Technical Proficiency: • Cloud & OS: AWS GovCloud, RHEL 8, Windows Server • Middleware/DevOps: JBoss EAP 7, CloudBees CI, Maven, Ansible, Terraform, Splunk Forwarder • Data: MongoDB 7.x administration and performance tuning • Identity & Web: AD/Kerberos, IIS, Apache; secure SFTP workflows • Networking/Storage: WAN/LAN, capacity planning, data-center topologies Security & Clearance • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
