Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Activ8, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our industrial machines. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at client sites, primarily in the Detroit, MI area, helping to minimize downtime and maximize customer satisfaction. What You'll Do: - You will install and commission new industrial machinery at customer locations, ensuring proper setup and operation. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures and extend machine life. - You will troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software issues to quickly resolve problems. - You will provide technical support and training to customers to enhance their understanding and use of our equipment. - You will document service activities, including repairs, parts used, and customer interactions. - You will collaborate with engineering and product teams to communicate field feedback and suggest improvements. - You will manage service calls efficiently to meet customer expectations and company standards. - You will adhere to safety protocols and company policies during all service activities. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service engineering or a related technical role. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience. - Familiarity with industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams. - Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with clients. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Detroit, MI area. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems. - Certification in industrial maintenance or electrical systems. - Prior experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment. - Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software related to machine servicing.
