Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Activ8, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our industrial machines. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment, directly supporting our customers in the Detroit, MI area. What You'll Do: - You will install and commission new industrial machinery at customer sites, ensuring proper setup and functionality. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures and extend machine life. - You will troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues to provide timely and effective solutions. - You will collaborate with the engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical problems. - You will document service activities, including reports and maintenance records, to maintain accurate service histories. - You will provide technical training and support to customers to enhance their understanding and operation of the equipment. - You will respond promptly to emergency service calls to minimize downtime and maintain customer satisfaction. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service engineering or a related technical role. - Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. - Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment in the field. - Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with clients. - Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a dynamic environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working with industrial automation and control systems. - Technical certifications related to mechanical or electrical engineering. - Familiarity with safety standards and compliance regulations in industrial settings. - Previous experience in the Detroit, MI area or similar industrial markets.
