Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Activ8, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our industrial machines. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at client sites, primarily in the Detroit, MI area. This role requires a proactive, customer-focused professional who thrives in dynamic environments. What You'll Do: - You will install and commission new industrial machinery at customer locations, ensuring proper setup and functionality. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment downtime. - You will troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues to provide timely solutions. - You will collaborate with the engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical problems. - You will document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance. - You will provide technical training and support to customers to enhance their operational knowledge. - You will respond promptly to emergency service calls to minimize client disruptions. - You will ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all service activities. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service or industrial machinery maintenance. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. - Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Detroit area. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with PLC programming and control systems. - Background in hydraulics and pneumatics. - Technical certification or relevant vocational training. - Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in industrial settings.
