Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Activ8, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our industrial machines. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at client sites, primarily in the Detroit, MI area. This role requires a proactive, customer-focused professional who thrives in dynamic environments. What You'll Do: - You will install and commission new industrial machinery at customer locations, ensuring proper setup and functionality. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment downtime. - You will diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to restore machine operation quickly. - You will collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical problems. - You will provide technical training and support to customers to enhance their understanding of the equipment. - You will document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance. - You will respond promptly to emergency service calls to minimize client disruptions. - You will ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all service activities. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service or industrial machinery maintenance. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Detroit area. - Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software related to industrial equipment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with PLC programming and control systems. - Background in hydraulics and pneumatics. - Certification in industrial maintenance or related technical fields. - Prior experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
