Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Activ8, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our industrial machines by providing on-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support. You will be the primary technical contact for our clients in the Detroit, MI area, helping to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency. What You'll Do: - You will install and commission new industrial machinery at client sites, ensuring proper setup and functionality. - You will perform routine maintenance and repairs to keep equipment operating at peak performance. - You will diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues promptly to reduce downtime. - You will collaborate with the engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical problems. - You will provide technical training and support to clients to enhance their understanding of the equipment. - You will document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance. - You will travel regularly within the Detroit, MI area to support multiple client locations. - You will adhere to safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service or industrial machinery maintenance. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently within the service area. - Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software related to industrial machinery. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with PLC programming and control systems. - Background in hydraulics and pneumatics. - Certification in industrial maintenance or related technical fields. - Prior experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
