Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Activ8, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our industrial machines. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at client sites, primarily in the Detroit, MI area, helping to minimize downtime and maximize customer satisfaction. What You'll Do: - You will install and commission new industrial machinery at customer locations. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment operates efficiently. - You will troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues on-site. - You will provide technical support and training to customers to optimize machine usage. - You will document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance. - You will collaborate with engineering and support teams to improve product reliability. - You will respond promptly to emergency service calls to minimize operational disruptions. - You will travel regularly within the Detroit, MI area to support client needs. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service or industrial machinery maintenance. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. - Experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently within the service area. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with PLC programming and diagnostics. - Background in software troubleshooting related to industrial machines. - Certifications in industrial maintenance or electrical systems. - Prior experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
