Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Activ8, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our industrial machines. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment, directly supporting our clients in the Detroit, MI area. This role requires a proactive and technically skilled professional who thrives in dynamic environments. What You'll Do: - You will install and commission new industrial machinery at client sites, ensuring proper setup and functionality. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment downtime. - You will troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues efficiently. - You will provide technical support and training to clients to maximize machine performance. - You will document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance. - You will collaborate with engineering and production teams to communicate field feedback and improve product design. - You will respond promptly to emergency service calls to minimize client operational disruptions. - You will adhere to safety protocols and company policies during all service activities. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service engineering or a related technical role. - Strong knowledge of industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. - Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams. - Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in the field. - Effective communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Detroit area. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems. - Background in mechanical or electrical engineering. - Certification in industrial machinery maintenance or related technical fields. - Familiarity with safety standards and compliance regulations in industrial settings.
