Job Title: Field Service Engineer Company Overview: Activ8 is a leading international distributor specializing in CNC machine tools and advanced manufacturing solutions. Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer based remotely in Hartford, CT, you will play a critical role in delivering technical support and service to our manufacturing customers. Your expertise in electrical and mechanical systems will ensure the optimal installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC machinery, helping clients maximize productivity and minimize downtime. What You'll Do: - You will provide remote and on-site technical support to manufacturing customers, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues. - You will install, maintain, and repair CNC machine tools and related equipment. - You will collaborate with customers to understand their technical needs and provide tailored solutions. - You will document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and installations. - You will work closely with the sales and engineering teams to support product improvements and customer satisfaction. - You will conduct training sessions for customers on machine operation and maintenance best practices. - You will ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all service activities. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service engineering, preferably with CNC machinery. - Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair. - Experience with installation and commissioning of industrial equipment. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and internal teams. - Ability to travel as needed to customer sites within the region. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working remotely and managing service calls independently. - Familiarity with PLC programming and diagnostics. - Background in manufacturing or industrial automation environments. - Technical certifications related to electrical or mechanical engineering.
