Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Activ8, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our industrial machines. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at client sites, primarily in the Detroit, MI area, helping to minimize downtime and maximize customer satisfaction. What You'll Do: - You will install and commission new industrial machinery at customer locations. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment operates efficiently. - You will troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on-site. - You will provide timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime. - You will collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide technical support. - You will document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance. - You will work closely with the engineering and support teams to escalate and resolve complex issues. - You will ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all service activities. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service or industrial machinery maintenance. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. - Experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Detroit, MI area. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working with automated or robotic machinery. - Technical certification or degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. - Familiarity with PLC programming and diagnostics. - Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
