Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Activ8, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our industrial machines. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at client sites, primarily in the Detroit, MI area, helping to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency. What You'll Do: - You will install and commission new industrial machinery at customer locations. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment operates at peak performance. - You will troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on-site. - You will provide timely repairs and technical support to minimize client downtime. - You will collaborate with the engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical problems. - You will document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance. - You will train customers on proper machine operation and safety protocols. - You will travel regularly within the Detroit, MI area to support client needs. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service or industrial machinery maintenance. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. - Experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working with international industrial machinery manufacturers. - Technical certifications related to mechanical or electrical systems. - Familiarity with PLC programming and controls. - Prior experience in the Detroit, MI industrial market.
