Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Activ8, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our industrial machines. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, directly supporting our customers in the Detroit, MI area to maximize uptime and operational efficiency. What You'll Do: - You will install and commission new industrial machinery at customer sites, ensuring proper setup and functionality. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures and extend machine life. - You will troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software issues to provide timely solutions. - You will collaborate with the engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical problems. - You will document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance. - You will provide technical training and support to customers to enhance their understanding of the equipment. - You will respond promptly to emergency service calls to minimize downtime. - You will adhere to safety protocols and company policies during all service activities. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service engineering or a related technical role. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience. - Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. - Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with clients. - Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a field environment. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Detroit area. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working with industrial machinery in manufacturing or production settings. - Knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation systems. - Certification in electrical or mechanical trades. - Familiarity with safety standards and compliance regulations in industrial environments.
