Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Activ8, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our industrial machines. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at client sites, primarily in the Detroit, MI area. This role requires a proactive, customer-focused professional who thrives in dynamic environments. What You'll Do: - You will install and commission new industrial machinery at customer locations. - You will perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize downtime. - You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues to identify root causes. - You will provide technical support and training to customers to ensure proper machine operation. - You will document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance. - You will collaborate with engineering and product teams to relay customer feedback and improve product performance. - You will manage service schedules and prioritize tasks to meet customer deadlines. - You will ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all service activities. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service or industrial machinery maintenance. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. - Experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Detroit area. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with PLC programming and diagnostics. - Background in software troubleshooting related to industrial machines. - Certification in industrial maintenance or related technical fields. - Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in industrial settings.
