Job Title: Medical Technologist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team. This role involves determining the acceptability of specimens for testing, performing both routine and complex technical procedures, and ensuring the proper functionality of instrumentation. You will prepare and test new reagents or controls and report accurate test results to deliver quality patient care. Responsibilities • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving. • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. • Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Essential Skills • Bachelor's of Science in a Science field. • ASCP certification. • Proficiency in laboratory operations including Hematology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory, Blood Bank, and PCR. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with Roche and Meditech is appreciated. Work Environment This role is based in a hospital lab environment. The working hours are Monday to Friday with rotating weekends, from 10:30 PM to 6:00 AM. The position offers a collaborative and growth-oriented atmosphere Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southfield, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
